Many of the greatest healers of our time firmly believe
that internal cleansing and detoxification of the human body is the key to
youth, vitality, energy and vibrant health. In fact no effective healing can
take place without cleansing the intestinal and eliminative systems.
Internal detoxification is an ongoing process that our
bodies perform on a daily basis. In much of the same way our hearts beat
nonstop and our lungs breathe continuously, our metabolic processes
continuously encounter and dispose of a variety of toxins and poisons. Under
ideal circumstances the body is well equipped to neutralize and dispose of
these toxins through the liver, spleen and eliminative channels (bowel,
kidneys, lungs, skin and lymphatic system). But in modern day society there are
no ideal circumstances.
Accumulated toxins in the body account for a myriad of
health complaints, ranging from something simple as fatigue or weight gain, to
serious other chronic and degenerative conditions. 99% of the time the amount
of the toxicity in the body directly correlates with the seriousness of the
condition. Eliminative systems under a continuous toxic onslaught, eventually
begin to breakdown and malfunction, and the resulting toxic accumulations
create the necessary preconditions for degenerative disease to develop.
Proper digestive and eliminative function entails having
2-3 good bowel movements a day. Most people are not aware of this, and go
through their daily lives eliminating once a day, once every other day, or
less. Ask yourself this question, if you eat 3 meals a day and only eliminate
once a day, where are the other two meals being stored? Infants are a perfect
example. Ask any mother for proof - a baby will eat and immediately eliminate.
Their new digestive systems have not had time to develop the mal absorption
problems caused by improper diet, environmental toxins and stress. Faulty
digestion and elimination develop in an individual through years of improper
lifestyle and dietary habits.
When we are not eliminating properly, wastes may not be
expelled for days, weeks, months or years. When we don't eliminate our wastes,
toxins back up in the colon, which can cause auto-intoxication, or
self-poisoning. This auto-intoxication lowers our overall feeling of health an
vitality. We start to blame other factors such as aging on why we experience a
lack of energy, why we don't have that "zip" in our walk or that or that
sparkle in our eyes. The truth is that age has nothing to do with the depletion
of energy and degenerating health. 99% of the time these complaints can be
alleviated through internal cleansing techniques...
